DVCPRO and DV Recording As Well As Playback

Now you won't have to use your consumer camcorder to play back your consumer DV tapes. The AJ-D455 will play and record in the consumer format as well as the professional DVCPRO format. Digital recording assures superb picture quality before and after the edit.

Uncompressed Digital Output as an Option

The AJ-D455 lets you take your digital video and edit on most nonlinear platforms. With the optional SDI board AJ-YA455P, the deck will take in and spit out uncompressed 601-type digital video known as Serial Digital Interface. More commonly, NLE systems require Firewire type video. The optional board AJ-YAD455P gives the user 6-pin Firewire in and out. (Firewire is always both directions.)

Linear Editing with RS-422

The AJ-D455 studio deck has a 9-pin RS-422 connector built into the machine. When connected to a linear edit controller, the deck will work in a frame accurate edit environment. (The deck will not edit while in DV record mode.)

Digital Slow Motion Feature

The AJ-D455 has digital still motion and digital slow motion playback. The machine will playback the video at 0.43 times normal speed, both forward and backward with an external controller having slow motion capabilities.

High Speed Search in Full Color

When an external controller is used, the AJ-D455 provides forward and reverse search at 16, 32, or 60 times normal speeds. The images will remain in color and the audio will be understandable to make searching for a scene as quick as possible.

Analog Component and REF Input and Output

The AJ-D455 has full analog ins and outs, without any upgrade or options required. Many high-end editing systems accept 3-BNC component input for high quality input (and output). Additionally, the deck also includes Y/C (S-video) and composite video input and output. Finally, the deck also gives the user a reference signal (in and out) often required when integrating into linear edit or live switching environments.
